Company app on your phone won't log in or freezes
Before you assume something is seriously wrong, try these few simple steps — in most cases they fix the problem within minutes.
What to check
Force-close the app and reopen it
In the recent apps view, close the app completely (swipe it up or to the side), then open it again. This resolves a good share of minor freezes.
Check whether an app update is available
Open the app store and check whether an update is available. An older version can sometimes stop working properly after the company makes changes on their end.
Check your internet connection
Make sure you have stable WiFi or mobile data. Company apps often need an internet connection just to show the login screen.
Double-check your login details
Make sure you're entering the current password and that Caps Lock or the wrong keyboard language isn't getting in the way.
Uninstall and reinstall the app
If nothing else works, remove the app and install it fresh from the store. It's a last resort, but it usually clears out corrupted app data that was causing the freezing.
Why company apps sometimes act up
Mobile apps talk to company servers, and an update on either side can briefly throw that communication off. Most of these problems are temporary and disappear once the app is refreshed or updated.
When it's a job for IT
- The problem persists even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
- The app shows a specific error message you don't understand.
- Several people in the company are reporting the same problem at once — that could be a server-side outage.
